Resistance is futile as I just love beads

Well I think the world is conspiring against me. As I explained on Sunday I was trying to resist an challenge proposed by Robin of Beadlust . The details are here, but to refresh your memory the idea is to produce a beaded fabric journal page once a month for 12 months. Journal pages can be any size and beaded as densely as you wish, on any theme you wish. Take a look it’s a very tempting challenge you will see why I am trying to resist it.

Time is my problem. I am still in the writing phase of my online course Sumptuous Surfaces which starts on July 11th. But as you might have read last week Jerry was torturing me (if you want the back story it is here )

Jerry is now home! I think I might just sign up as look at what was in that parcel. It’s a case of the world is conspiring against me and anyway when it comes to beads "resistance is futile"!

The little ducks in the first bag on the left are by far my favourites! I will of course use them in crazy quilting.

If you swing over to Jerry’s blog while you are there check out the photographs of some handbags he saw. Talk about bling!

In my blogroll update I have added Entwinements . Karren writes about Shibori dyeing techniques. Recently Karren has published a tutorial on creating shibori butterflies so don’t miss it.

In response to my post on creativity on Monday, Tenar’s cave has responded with her 10 favourites. So has ever embellished and Christine of Lady Jane's Journal has worked out her own creativity tips

I do have another link for you this morning. There has been a revival in crewel wool work in the last couple of years. Meg Andrews has written an article on Crewel wool work hangings. It's an interesting read over a morning cuppa.

That’s all for today … it’s late … it’s late she mutters as she shuffles out the door still agonizing over Robins journal bead challenge…

I'm so jealous of your duck beads!  But I'm so delighted you'll be joining Beadlust's project.  And I'm so hopeful your Sumptuous Surfaces class will be a success, you'll offer it again -- just not during the summer!

Hi! Sharon,

Succumb, succumb, resistance is for the birds, you really have to do something with those lovely beads Jerry brought home.

Judy.
