For the Love of Stitching Sampler - Band 154

This section of the band sampler is simple cross stitch and I found the bee motif online on a free sites Unfortunately I can’t find it again to link to it! I simply repearted the motif 3 times across the sampler.

Thread

A hand dyed soft Danish cotton which feels and works up in a similar way to coton a broder and is matt with no sheen. It is approximately the same thickness and weight as perle 12

Fabric:

This section of my sampler is worked on Aida

Dyes:

Procion cold water dyes for the threads

Size:

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

This section of the sampler was finished in November 2005.

The back story:

This series is documenting a long hand embroidered band sampler, which is still growing as I still stitch it. More about the band sampler are in the category For the Love of Stitching band sampler

I've been waiting impatiently to see those bees close up. What a charming motif.
