For the Love of Stitching Band Sampler
Band description:
This is a check pattern of stitches which alternate between Rice stitch and straight stitches worked on a diagonal slant in a regular manner.
Threads:
On the rice stitch the base cross is worked in yellow rayon ribbon floss and the top bars are worked in a hand dyed wool which is about the same weight as Appletons. The squares of straight stitches are worked in a hand dyed baby knitting wool.

Fabric:
This section of my sampler is worked on Aida
Dyes:
Procion cold water dyes for the threads
Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
Date:
This section of the sampler was finished in November 2005.
The back story:
This series is documenting a long hand embroidered band sampler, which is still growing as I still stitch it. More about the band sampler are in the category For the Love of Stitching band sampler
