Contemporary doll maker Salley Mavor

Salley Mavor contemporary doll maker and author of Felt Wee Folk is now keeping a blog which is not to missed.

Salley Mavor creates miniature scenes in a high relief fibre technique. Her finely detailed hand-stitched illustrations are used to illustrate children’s books.

Don’t miss Salley Mavor’s new blog as I am sure reading about her process and inspiration will be of constant interest. Also check out her website Wee Folk Studio, particularly the notecards for an idea of the level of detail to the little figures she makes.

Found with thanks via Denise Felton of Needlework craft gossip  who keeps the online textile community up to date on all things fibre. If you are not already aware of this blog check it out too!

Thanks for the link, Sharon. I received Sally's book as a Christmas gift last year and it is wonderful - chock-full of inspiration!
