For the Love of Stitching Sampler - Band 151

Readers might be happy to know that this is the last band in section 9 which is made up of herringbone experiments and tomorrow we have a another section.

This band of stitching is another mixed stitch as it is created by working two rows of the hybrid of chevron stitch and  herringbone stitch. It is very similar to band 149 but over the top of each crossed section I have made a straight stitch.

Thread:

Perle thread #5 and the dark green is #8

Fabric:

This section of my sampler is worked on cream dress linen.

Size:

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

I started this section of the sampler in 2004 and completed it early 2005.

The back story:

This post is part of series documenting a hand embroidered band sampler, which now measures over 44 feet long and is still growing as I still stitch it. That is not a typo, if you want to know more about the sampler related posts are listed below and the series are categorised under For the Love of Stitching band sampler
