For the Love of Stitching Band Sampler
It is time to introduce section 12 of the For the Love of Stitching Sampler. I hope over the next few weeks people will enjoy seeing the various patterns and forms of buttonhole I explored on this sampler. Section 12 of my band sampler was completed it December 2005.
At the time I shocked by the Cronulla riots in Sydney. I was watching them on TV when I decided to stitch a comment about it at the end of the sampler.
This was the start of odd autobiographical comments to be found on the sampler from that point on. I must admit that as the years have passed these little comments about what has been happening in my life have increased. People seem to enjoy them and they are gradually changing the feel and character of the sampler.
The sample is worked on Aida. I only used one thread on this section and it is a cotton thread which was hand dyed by me.
In case a search engine has landed you here this post is part of series documenting a hand embroidered band sampler, which now measures over 44 feet long and is still growing as I still stitch it. All posts in the series are in the category For the Love of Stitching band sampler

ohhh I really like these buttonhole variations already :-)
What a fantastic record of such events as the Cronulla race riots although I can hardly believe it was really 4 years ago. I love this work and am completely hooked on checking for new posts. I hope it is never finished.
