For the Love of Stitching Sampler - Band 38

This band illustrates zig-zag chain stitch

Thread:

A hand dyed cotton crochet thread the same weight as perle 5, hand dyed by me.

Fabric:

This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.

Dyes:

Procion cold water dyes for the thread

Size:

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

This section of the sampler is dated 1996 - Jan 1998

The back story

If a search engine has landed you on this page I am in the process of documenting a hand embroidered band sampler, band by band, which worked over a number years and now measures over 44 feet long. All bands are hand embroidered  and for the history of the piece read my introductory post  about it

If you are thinking of working a sampler I have answered a few questions about width and fabric choice.
