Spotted out and about on the blogs

Over on U Handbag Lisa is running a series on Bag making for newbies. Part 1 covers Sewing Terms and Part 2 covers Choosing Fabrics and Interfacings

Pam Kellog of Kitty and Me is scanning and posting a 1926 booklet on Italian Cutwork & Filet Lace. Pam plans on re-publishing two pages a day on her blog.

Doe c Doe has published some cute free vintage embroidery designs one of which is a floral spray in the shape of heart. I am sure with valentines day coming up it will popular but it will also hit the mark with crazy quilters.

Mary over on Needle ‘n Thread has been busy as she has a  Free Hand Embroidery Design: Motif Suitable for Goldwork, also she has published a detailed article on a gold thread called of all things, flatworm! Another tutorial for Drawn Thread Embroidery: Another Way to Secure the Edge and has continued work on her Whitework sampler

For those interested in Canvas work, Barbara Bergsten of Create Needlepoint has published directions on how to do Scotch stitch as part of her Needlepoint stitches series

Summer Louise has also been exploring Scotch Stitch in her a stitch a week series

I found this tutorial for a leaf shaped drawstring bag a total delight. (Found with thanks via Whip up

Allison over on Allies in Stitches has also written a tutorial on Ying and Yang applique

Over on the History of Embroidery, Helen Cowans has started to cover the history of samplers with some lovely historical examples illustrated.

Thanks for the great links! There are a couple there that I've never seen before, and definitely deserve some perusing.
