CQ Detail 21

I think this must be the simplest of details I have ever worked as it is a   French knot in the centre of a flower motif in a section of lace.

Thread:

DMC perle 5

Placement and Foundation Fabric:

This lace covers the seam that borders piece 6 and piece 3 and 2 on the diagram used when I Introduced block 3.  At the same time I also talked about the foundation fabrics I used.

Type of lace

This lace is nylon ( fairly cheap and ordinary) which I hand dyed

Dyes

Disperse dyes (also known as transfer dyes) on the lace

The back story

This is a crazy quilt block which is part of my “I dropped the Button box” quilt. I am documenting this crazy quilt detail by detail, and posting about it on this blog every second day. You will find information about this series of articles and the quilt here.

If you are looking for the series you will find it under the category of Crazy Quilt  details and here are links to a free block pattern and information for block 1 , for block 2  and for  block 3.  For a stitch guide to hand embroidery stitches, instructions can be found in my stitch dictionary
