Introducing crazy quilt block 6

I would like to introduce block 6 (placed on this grid ) in the I dropped the Button Box quilt which you can see in this gallery. I hope people will enjoy seeing it in more detail over the next week or so.

Fabric content:

Once again this small block has 9 pieces of fabric in it.

Piece 1: Polyester found in a swatch book

Piece 2: Polyester found in a swatch book

Piece 3: Cotton found in a swatch book

Piece 4: Cotton from Libertys in London

Piece 5: Silk from a dress found in a second hand shop

Piece 6: Polished cotton found in a swatch book

Piece 7: Velvet

Piece 8: Cotton found in a swatch book

Piece 9: Polyester cotton found in a swatch book

Item Count:

As I have explained before this quilt is a Y2K quilt which is made up of 2001 different elements. My definition of an element was either a different fabric, lace, braid, charm, buttons or ribbon. So far this is the count

Fabric: 9

Braid: 1

Lace: 2

Buttons: 10

Total items on this block:  22

Total tally on Quilt so far 124

If you have just landed on this page via search engine this is a crazy quilt block which is part of my “I dropped the Button box” quilt. I am documenting this crazy quilt detail by detail, and posting about it on this blog every second day. You will find information about this series of articles and the quilt here.

If you are looking for the series you will find it under the category of Crazy Quilt  details.

I am SO glad that you've decided to share this pattern. I am new to this type of quilting and confused at the same time but seeing your pattern helps a lot. Yesterday (my first day) I tried all different types of ways, needless to say that my pieces didn't have sides that matched and I was so frustrated and wasting so much time trying to figure out what I was supposed to do, I looked all over GOOGLE but couldn't find any help, It almost seemed that crazy quiliting was some kind of secret that no one wants to share.

Thank you for giving me hope and a really nice pattern to follow!

I just found your blog and am so excited. I keep seeing this type of crazy quilt work but not how to do it. Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to try it.
