Around the blogs
Thankyou for all your ‘welcome back’ messages. They are lovely to read.
I won’t have time to do a round up of the needleweaving samples worked by people who have been stitching the challenge. I have a heck of a lot of work related stuff to catch up on and many participants have not swung back to leave their web address.
However do check out Kay Susan’s blog S’mockery Sm’art as Kay’s needlweaving samples are fantastic.
Yesterday I started poking around the blogs and seeing what people have been up to. These are few gems I found.
Barbara Bergsten of Create Needlepoint has diagrammed out a number of canvaswork stitches including Brick Cashmere Stitch, Mosaic Checker Stitch, Arrowhead Stitch, and Scotch Checker Stitch.
Over on Rayela’s Fiber focus is a very good analsis of the advantages and disadvantages of selling on Etsy. Since she has had a 1,000 Sales on Etsy if you are interested in earning a living from craft work this article is a must read.
Lisa of Ivory Blush Roses usually writes about some of the fantastic crazy quilting projects she works on but recently has shown us how she records crazy quilting seam embellishments in a small notebook.(Scroll to see them) While on the site check out her latest block its great.
Over on a Print a Day I spotted these cute free embroidery patterns of girls dresses
Kelly Fletcher of Materialistic has been running a series of designs for Jacobean leaves. You will find them here, here and here.
Mary Corbet of Needle ‘n Thread has written an informative piece on Coton a Broder Questions, Floche, and Danish Flower Thread
Toy a Day Anyone interested in paper arts will enjoy this blog as Joe is blogging a paper toy a day. Don’t miss it as it is one of those gems online.
Helen Conway of City and Guilds Embroidery has shared images of studio journal. I think many readers will find the design process in action interesting

Glad to see you back :) Thank you very much for such a wonderfully detailed blog. I've learned TONS since discovering your blog a few weeks ago, and discovered some amazing blogs you've recommended. I really love your sampler - what a terrific idea!
I realized how much I missed your blog now that you've come back. Thanks for keeping it going.
Hi Sharon. Thanks for blogging about my Jacobean leaves designs. I've had more and more interest in the patterns because of mentions like this and I appreciate it. Have a good weekend, Kelly
