CQ Detail 61

Stitches:

It is a bit difficult to describe what is actually going on here but I will try. First I worked a row of widely spaced open Cretan stitch, which was then laced twice. The first was laced along the spine of the stitch then I laced the arms of the stitch.

The arrangements of three straight stitches were added before the stars which were attached with a seed bead.

Thread:

The Cretan stitch was worked in rayon ribbon floss and laced with Perle thread #5. Perle thread was also used for the straight stitches.

Placement and Foundation Fabric:

This seam joins piece 5 to piece 1 and 2. You will find the diagram in the article I wrote when I introduced block 9. In the same article I also talked about the foundation fabrics I used.

Beads:

Star shaped sequins and seed beads
