For the love of stitch band sampler section 6 

With band 102 I reached the end of section 5 of the For the Love of Stitching band sampler.

 

Over the next couple of weeks I will talk about each area of this piece - section 6 which was worked in May 1998 on 26 count linen. 

 

In section 5 I took a different turn with my sampler experiments.First it had a marine theme and I decided to work more with the elements of design. I enjoyed it so much that I continued in this vein for section 6

 

As you can see section 6 has an Autumn theme. For those readers in the Northern Hemisphere remember I am ‘down under’ and for me Autumn or Fall is between March and the end of May.  

 

Like section 5 this part of the sampler was worked  more or less was worked from start to finish because it was designed. Unlike other areas of the sampler I sat down and worked it instead of picking it up when I was in the mood and experimenting. In other words it was focused
