Around the blogs

I have not done a general round up of what has been happening on various blogs for an absolute age so here goes a few gems discovered around the web. So make a cuppa settle back, have a browse and enjoy!

If you have ever wondered how to stitch with beads pop over to Possibilities etc as Judy has written a well illustrated tutorial which includes information about using extra fine beading needles, and how to use a needle threader.

Denise Felton of Craft Gossip Needlework has done a great round up of free embroidery patterns released in the last few weeks that you may have missed

Barbara Bergsten of Create Needlepoint has released two free stitch guides for needlepoint tote inserts. They are a great way to increase the number of  canvas stitches you have under your belt.

Allison Aller of Allies n Stitches has published another tutorial on how to make a vintage flower

Jo in NZ has written a woven Rose tutorial

Mary Corbet of Needle n’ Thread has been running a series of long and short stitch shading lessons. Lesson 1 introduces the project while lesson 2 part 1 and part 2 shades in a square in a number of directions. Lesson 3 shades a triangle in a number of directions and lesson 4 covers how to work circles  and disks. This series is really worth while as it is comprehensive, well explained and illustrated clearly.

Robin Atkins of Beadlust has written a very thoughtful post about blogging and why she keeps one. Pop across as she raises some aspects about the community role played in blogging.

QuinnCreative argues that people who write blogs are very curious in Renaissance Man…and Woman…Write Blogs

While on the topic of blogging over on the Blog Herald, Easton Ellsworth has written a good piece,  10 Ways to Be a Happy Blogger

Finally I enjoyed Daisy Yellow’s Art Journal inspiration

Hi, Sharon!

Thanks so much for mentioning my L&S stitch tutorials! I appreciate that!

I've been really REALLY behind in checking my feedreader - just saw your update on the WIP CQ blocks - it's absolutely stunning!

As always, your website is a pleasure to visit and to learn from!

Best regards,
Mary
