For the Love of Stitching Band Sampler
This band of stitching is created by sections of single herringbone stitch and simply repeating them across the band.

Thread:
A hand dyed cotton.
Fabric:
This section of my sampler is worked on cream dress linen
Dyes:
Procion cold water dye for the cotton thread.
Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
Date:
I started this sampler in 2004 and completed it early 2005.
The back story:
This post is part of series documenting a hand embroidered band sampler, which now measures over 44 feet long and is still growing as I still stitch it. That is not a typo, if you want to know more about the sampler related posts are listed below and all posts in the series are in the category For the Love of Stitching band sampler

Just a quick note
For anyone interested in taking a class with me Personal Library of Stitches is due to start October 6th
For those thinking about taking this class the course is structured in such a way that each week I take an aspect of design and apply it to stitches. This means that the content of the course is very different from what is already published in my blog. Students work samplers which are any size and shape of their choice.
Follow the links to read class descriptions and I have described how classes work if you have not taken an online class before.
