For the Love of Stitching Band Sampler I hope people are still enjoying this series. When I started writing about each band I realised it would take some time to work through, but the reality of the process is a bit daunting at times. On the whole I have enjoyed documenting each band and it has reinvigorated my interest in stitches. One off shoot of this interest is that I have stitched more since I have started to document this sampler. So, generally the process of photographing and writing about each band is a positive experience for me. I hope readers still find the changing moods of this sampler interesting.

Some of my Sumptuous Surfaces students may recognise parts of section 28. In this series I do not be discuss or cover aspects of design as often design is what I teach in my classes. Some of the bands in this section of the sampler are used to illustrate points I wanted to make in my class. These bands taken out of context do not give away the contents of the classes.
If you have been enjoying this series and enjoy hand embroidery you may be interested in taking another of my online classes. Personal Library of Stitches an online class which will start on Friday September 24th. At a cost of 6 lessons for $60 it is a bargain. More information about this class is available if you follow the link to Personal Library of Stitches and you can book on the same page. If you have not taken an online class before this is how online classes work.
Fabric:
26cnt linen
Size:
The sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and all the sections are stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and I have more sections to add in other words it is is still growing. I will stop when I get bored with playing with it!
Date:
This section of the sampler was completed in January 2008.
The back story:
This series is documenting a long hand embroidered band sampler, which is still growing as I still stitch it. More about the band sampler are in the category For the Love of Stitching band sampler

BTW I have you on my blog "roll" :)
and take a look. (I have added it to my big list too)
I, too, have found that writing about past projects has also helped me to embroider more now. Just as I hoped it would!
Your embroidery is beautiful, I hope I get this good one day.
