    How classes work

All classes are run from Joggles.com. Read the class description and follow the link on that page to book and buy the class.

There are two major components of online classes, the lessons themselves, and the forum. The lessons are the guts of the class. The lessons are an Adobe PDF document are disseminated to the students by joggles.com.

Each student is given a User ID and password as well as the URL to the class webpage where they are expected to go and download each lesson. There is a one lesson per week. I have designed the lessons so that people can work at them as much or as little as they choose. Some people have more time to put into them others do not. I understand this, for this reason I have designed the lessons to be self paced.

Students download each lesson weekly and progress through the class. They can choose to just do a few hours stitching or more. It’s up to the student.

Each student is invited to register at the forums, which is where all class communication takes place. While not real time chat, you can post messages. I check the forum daily to answer questions and join in on the chat. Students can post images of their work online so I can give them feedback. Participation in the forums is totally voluntary but I think this is the fun part of the process as it is where students get feed back from me, bounce ideas off each other and share pleasure in learning a new skill.

    A notice to students

Never miss an opportunity to sign up for one of Sharon's classes. They are wonderfully intense, definitely worth every penny. Sharon is an extraordinarily talented teacher. The studies and ideas she puts forth will stay with you throughout your creative life. I am currently taking my 4th class with Sharon through Joggles, a very efficient set up.

I've taken two of the classes with Sharon via Joggles... I intend to sign up for a third in 2009... if you are thinking of signing up - do so... I can highly recommend these courses... I'm still using the 'workbooks' that Sharon provides... so much information and ideas you simple cannot try it all during the course... thanks Sharon for providing so much inspiration not only through your courses but here on your blog and at 'stitchin fingers' too...

    Hi Sharon!
I'm really interested in the cq class. I'll try to keep checking back on the 2009 date. The sumptuous surfaces class looks great too...but I'm thinking the cq first would be best for me. I'd really like to learn more about color pallets, how to choose the right color/style/texture of threads for the biggest effect and how to build great seam treatments.
You can find me on stitchinfingers!
    Thanks!

I took two classes with Sharon, the Personal library of stitches and Sumptuous Surfaces. I highly highly recommend them to all, I have tried not only huge number of stitches, but gained invaluable knowledge about design as well. Comparing to other on-line classes Sharon has put much more information in each lesson (cca 180 printed pages for each class) as well as time and energy during the course, answering questions and commenting on everybody´s work. The courses are great value for the money, you will not regret a penny.

I am in the final week of Sharon's Sumptous Surfaces class. Although I am not even close to finishing my work (really due to over committing on my part) I would highly recommend taking a course from Sharon. WOW-I am amazed at the detail. I did needlepoint for years and then started quilting-I really thought that I didn't need the class, but after reading her BLOG, I decided to give it a try. Don't be fooled-you will learn more than you pay for-this course is WONDERFUL! I am looking forward to taking another class with Sharon in 2009-it is my treat to myself-I learned more abou design in this class then I ever imagined. Thank you SHARON!!!!!

I too have just finished Sharon's Sumptous Surfaces class. I have only finished my first part of the course, and too that's due to me over committing myself to travelling and other stuff. I have learnt so much for this class and her Studio Journals, which i hope there will be a part 2 next year. I would highly recommend taking a course from Sharon through Joggles.com, they certainly have it worked out down pat.

    thanks Sharon.

I have take the Studio Journals and Sumptuous Surfaces classes with Sharon and although I have not yet finished either they are both to be recommended. The really good thing about them is that it doesn't matter if you don't get to the end at the prescribed time because there is no end - they are classes that you can work on for the rest of your life. Thank you Sharon

    Hello Sharon,
I am a needlepointer and subscribe to your wonderful blog. I am thinking that your class on stitches that starts on March 4th would be of interest for some one who does needlepoint. Please let me know if that is the case or if it is best for embroiderers and quilters.
    Thank you.

    Hi Sharon,

I recently joined the StitchMAP group (last week) and was reading through the posts and came to know about your online class. I want to take one of the classes, to know the different variety of stitches. I have been tatting, crocheting and beading. I do know knitting but not good at it. I will be learning Hardanger soon.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am interested in the class on Sumptuous Stitches but am teaching the day it is offered. I am assuming but need confirmation that since I download, that means I can view the class at my schedule point. Am I correct? Many thanks. Mary Ellen

    Hi Mary Ellen
You asked about when you could download the class. The advantage to online classes is that you do them when it suits you. We have people all over the globe and in different time zones taking these classes (That is also an interesting aspect of the class - but I digress)
Yes you can download the class anytime that week and simply log in to the forum when you choose. If you have a question, ask it in the forum and I will answer it when I login. I login daily to see how people are going and make sure no one is stuck.
To be honest it works amazingly well.
